The Pogues – Rum Sodomy and the Lash

This album is perhaps the best album the pogues done.Released in 1985 ,the second album, the Pogues were now well and truly on the front row by now.Great opening track,”the Sickbed of Cuchulain” about spanish civil war drunken veteran.this album finishes with a superb version of the eric Bogle Anti-War song “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda”.Also contains a great Contribution from bass player Cait O’Roirdans vocals singing “A man you dont meet everyday”.

Classic album.Well worth hearing if youre not familiar with the pogues already.
